Adnan Hasović
Adnan Hasović is a photographer and filmmaker based in Amsterdam.
Much of his work revolves around movement, whether through dance, people passing through a city, or the constant transformation of urban spaces. Having worked closely with choreographers and dancers for many years, he often approaches filming as a form of collaboration rather than observation. The camera is not simply recording movement. It becomes part of it. In his films, camera movement often takes on the role of a dancer itself, moving alongside performers and sharing their perspective from within the action.
Alongside his work with dance, he photographs architecture, portraits, and everyday life. He is drawn to small details that often go unnoticed. A storefront, a street corner, a passing gesture, a building before it disappears. Cities are constantly changing, and many of his photographs and films become quiet records of places and moments that no longer exist in the same way.
Returning to older work often reveals this sense of change. Images that began as observations of ordinary life gradually take on a feeling of nostalgia, preserving fragments of a city and a moment in time.
Working across both photography and film, his practice is rooted in observation, movement, and the relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit.
